Retirement Estimate
A planning estimate based on the assumptions you entered.
How the Retirement Calculator Works
The calculator first estimates how much your current monthly retirement spending could cost at retirement after inflation. It then subtracts any projected other monthly retirement income and estimates the savings needed to fund the remaining spending through the life expectancy you enter.
Projected Savings = Current Savings × (1 + Monthly Return)Months + Monthly Contribution × [((1 + Monthly Return)Months − 1) ÷ Monthly Return]
The required nest egg is calculated as the present value at retirement of the estimated monthly retirement spending over the retirement period, using an inflation-adjusted return assumption. The result is sensitive to the assumptions entered.
